A man has been charged with drugs offences after being stopped on the M6 by Cumbria police officers.

Cumbria police say officers stopped Santiliano Sakaj, who's 29-years-old and from Leicester, on the M6 near Penrith on Friday afternoon (5th September).

He attempted to run from the car, but was caught by police.

When searching the car, officers reportedly found cash and cannabis.

Sakaj has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and a money laundering offence.

He will appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 10th October.
