Louie Graham, 22, has been jailed for nearly five years after a brutal attack on an innocent man in Frizington left the victim with severe injuries, including a collapsed lung and broken facial bones.

Graham, who admitted to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, was arrested on the night of the attack on 7th December last year, which occurred at the home of a former partner.

The assault took place after Graham and other males broke into the property via the back door, with the young victim sustaining injuries that required emergency intensive care treatment.

Detective Constable Toby Gott described the attack as savage and cowardly, emphasizing the profound impact on the victim and his close ones. Graham initially tried to mislead police, claiming he attempted to help the victim, but later confessed to his involvement in court.

He was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court and will serve time reflecting on his actions while in prison.

Cumbria Constabulary reiterated that violent crime affecting innocent victims will not be tolerated in the community.
