Keswick’s Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) will be closed from today, 16th December, due to temporary staffing pressures.

The closure will last for the rest of the week with plans to reopen the centre at 8:30am on Monday, 22nd December.

Patients who require urgent medical care during this period are encouraged to visit the Urgent Treatment Centre in Penrith, which operates from 8am to 10pm every day, or seek help at A&E departments at Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital, which remain open as usual.

Urgent Treatment Centres can diagnose and treat a wide variety of common ailments and may be a suitable alternative to A&E for non-serious conditions that cannot wait for a GP appointment.

A spokesperson advised visiting the NCIC website to view live waiting times.
