Kendal man charged after approaching children at playground

A man appeared in court today (27th June) after he breached a Sexual Harm Prevention Order by approaching children near a play park in Kendal.

Charlie Currie, who's 21-years-old, will remain in custody until his trial on 17th July 2025.

A Cumbria police spokesperson said: "A man has been remanded in custody after a police investigation into reports of suspicious activity in the area of a Kendal play park.

"Charlie Currie, from Rinkfield, Kendal, appeared today at Furness Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

"The offences relate to reports of suspicious activity where a man had approached children near to a play park in Kendal in early April and earlier this week.

"At court, Currie pleaded guilty to the offences. He has been remanded in custody."
