Barrow make first signing of Summer

They've signed Scottish Striker Innes Cameron on a two-year deal.

The club announced on their website that they had signed The 6 ft 3 " striker on a two-year contract with The Bluebirds.

His contract will come into effect from July 1st.

The 24-year-old departs Kilmarnock after spending over a decade at the Scottish Premiership side, where he made a total of 80 appearances for the senior team.

Cameron made his debut there in 2016, at the age of 16, making him the second youngest player to ever feature for their first team.

Across the past three years at Killie, Cameron has played 60 matches for the Scottish side across numerous club competitions, including the Europa Conference League.

Upon signing for Barrow, the former Scottish youth international said: "It feels brilliant, I’m really looking forward to getting started.

"Obviously, it’s a new challenge for myself and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, so I’m really looking forward to getting going."

He added: "I’m hard working, I put myself about, I’m not afraid of getting involved with a centre-half or two. I’d like to chip in with a few goals and try to bring my team into play."

Bluebirds Head Coach, Whing, also said: "We’re delighted to get Innes on board with us, he’s a striker who is really well suited to the league and we believe he can get even better with us.

"Since we first spoke to him, he’s been eager to join, and I’ve been really impressed that he wants to get out of his comfort zone after being at Kilmarnock since he was 13 years old.

"We’re really excited to be working with Innes and look forward to seeing what he brings us."
