Man dies in M6 collision near Gretna

Emergency services were called to the M6 northbound near Junction 45 at Gretna following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
The crash took place at around at 6:42am today (Wednesday, 2 October).

His family has been informed.
Police said a number of other vehicles were also affected by debris and damage as a result of the incident.
The M6 northbound remains closed while collision investigation work continues, and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
