Police are appealing for witnesses after a car fire outside a store in Greenodd, near Ulverston.

The fire happened outside Henry Armer & Sons at around 11.10pm on Thursday 24th September, Cumbria Police said.

A black Vauxhall Astra was seen on CCTV driving slowly past the store from the direction of Greenodd roundabout, before breaking down outside.

It was then pushed by four people into a nearby driveway and set alight, police said.

Officers are keen to speak to the drivers of two vehicles that drove past the scene at 11.12pm.

Police said the vehicle would have been noticeable due to the speed it was travelling at.

The incident is being treated as a suspected arson.
