Cumbria's own Luke Greenbank has added a bronze medal to his impressive tally by clinching third place in the 200m backstroke at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
This accomplishment marks an important milestone in Greenbank’s illustrious swimming career, which already includes an Olympic bronze medal.
Entering the Glasgow Games with strengthened confidence, the 28-year-old aimed to fulfill his quest for an individual Commonwealth medal after experiencing growth and learning from past Games at Gold Coast 2018 and Birmingham 2022.
"I’ve never won an individual Commonwealth Games medal, so that’s a massive aim and a really big motivator for me," Greenbank stated prior to the event.
Competing closer to home in Glasgow, Greenbank had friends and family present, including his fiancée, Olympic gold medallist Anna Hopkin, cheering him on as he competed against top-tier opponents.
