Goalkeeper Gabe Breeze transfers from Carlisle United to Cambridge United
Joining Cambridge United marks a new chapter in the career of the 22-year-old goalkeeper
Carlisle United's goalkeeper Gabe Breeze is set to join Cambridge United for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old has departed Brunton Park after progressing through Carlisle United's Academy and becoming the first-choice goalkeeper.
Breeze signed his first professional contract with Carlisle United in 2021 and made his senior debut against Fleetwood Town in December 2023, appearing in 85 matches for the team.
Head Coach, Rob Elliot, shared his thoughts on the transfer, stating: “Gabe has been brilliant to work with and has handled himself well throughout.”
He further mentioned that recognising opportunities for young players is crucial, and Breeze leaves with their thanks and best wishes.
Carlisle United’s Sporting Director, Marc Tierney, praised Breeze's progression from the Academy to becoming the team's number one goalkeeper, highlighting the pride shared by both the player and the club.
Tierney expressed confidence that this move is an excellent opportunity for Breeze's career and shows a positive pathway for young players at Carlisle United.
The club officially thanked Breeze for his contributions and wished him the best in his future career with Cambridge United.
