Cumberland Council is set to carry out necessary roadworks on the carriageway between Highland View and Silversyke, near Boltonfellend, starting on 18th May 2026.

The project is anticipated to last for 10 working days, although this may change depending on weather conditions and site requirements.

To ensure safety, the works will proceed under a road closure, with a diversion route clearly marked for drivers.

Working hours will be from 8am to 4pm each day.

Emergency service vehicles will be allowed access through the area, and pedestrians and cyclists who dismount can pass through.

Waste collections and school transport services will continue unaffected.

This initiative is part of Cumberland Council’s routine highway maintenance programme, aimed at maintaining road quality for residents, businesses, and visitors.

The council acknowledges that these closures might cause temporary disruption and has expressed gratitude to the public for their patience during the improvement works.
