Cumberland Council has announced essential carriageway resurfacing works at Ulpha to Hall Bridge, Dunnerdale, with activities scheduled to commence on Monday, 9th February 2026.

The roadworks, expected to last up to two weeks depending on weather and site conditions, will necessitate a full road closure for public and workforce safety. Traffic marshals will be present throughout the operation to support residents in accessing their homes wherever possible. Refuse collection access will be maintained when deemed safe.

Scheduled to take place from Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6.00pm, the works will ensure that emergency service vehicles, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists have access at all times.

Residents with specific access needs or those seeking more information are encouraged to contact Cumberland Council’s Highways Team at 0300 373 3736 or visit cumberland.gov.uk. They should quote the reference "C4028 Ulpha" for assistance.

Cumberland Council extends its gratitude to residents and road users for their understanding and cooperation during these vital works and remains committed to executing the project efficiently with minimal disruption.
