Dead man named following fatal collision on the A66

Police have named the dead man as 45-year-old Pete Faulkner.

A man who died after a collision involving two vehicles on the A66 at the weekend, has been named.

45-year-old Pete Faulkner of Cockermouth was declared dead at the scene on Saturday. Mr Faulkner's Dacia and a Ford were involved in the collision.

Police had been given a report of the collision at 1.18am on Saturday morning.

The driver of the Ford, a man, was taken to hospital with injuries that police say are not life-threatening or changing.

Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to call them on 101, referring to incident 23 of June 6th.
