Cumbria organisations host family-friendly Ullswater event aimed at promoting responsible behaviour
Community engagement to promote responsible area enjoyment
A collective of community partners is hosting a family-friendly engagement event today in Glenridding, Cumbria.
The "Keeping Ullswater Beautiful" event aims to promote the responsible enjoyment of the Ullswater area and highlight efforts to protect this iconic landscape.
The initiative brings together Cumbria Police, Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, the Office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, the Lake District National Park Authority, Westmorland and Furness Council, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team, among others.
Key issues addressed at the event include littering, fly camping, anti-social behaviour, and water safety.
Organisers encourage visitors and locals to join in maintaining the beauty of Ullswater.
Live Demonstrations, Activities, and Engagement
Attendees can watch a live Cumbria Police drone demonstration, meet mounted volunteers, partake in water safety-themed activities and games, and try on Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team's famous "robot trousers."
The event takes place from 1pm to 4pm at Jenkins Field, Glenridding, near Ullswater 'Steamers.'
