Arrests for drug driving and shop theft in Kendal

Officers found a haul of meat in a car.

Officers arrested three people on suspicion of offences including drug driving and shoplifting on Wednesday in Kendal.

Police stopped a vehicle at Sainsbury’s in Shap Road at around 9.40pm.

Inside the vehicle they recovered a large amount of meat and other products.

The driver was subject to a drugs wipe, which they failed for cocaine.

The three occupants of the vehicle – two men and a woman – were arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop, with the driver was further arrested for drug driving.
