Cumbria forensic expert wins international digital justice award
Ralph Henderson recognised for digital excellence at US awards
Ralph Henderson, Digital Forensic Unit Office Manager at Cumbria Police, has received prestigious international recognition for his exceptional contribution to digital forensics.
At the Cellebrite Digital Justice Awards held in Washington DC, Henderson was honoured with the Digital Bridge Builder award for his work in digital forensic initiatives that connect and support law enforcement.
Competing against nominees from Brazil, Florida, and Kansas, Henderson’s innovative Cumbria Cellebrite Guardian project was highlighted for its significant impact in digital device examination and remote viewing solutions.
This cloud-based system facilitates inbuilt remote viewing for officers, aiming to improve investigations by keeping officers on-site and reducing travel and time costs, ultimately enhancing public service.
Ralph Henderson said: "I'm truly honoured to receive this recognition and award, but this was far from a solo effort, many departments in Cumbria Constabulary have worked extremely hard to deliver this solution."
Detective Superintendent Andy Myers, Head of Forensic Services at Cumbria Police, praised Henderson’s accomplishment, stating: “We’re extremely proud of Ralph, the work he carries out and this achievement. He has received this award on behalf of Cumbria while up against international colleagues."
The awards, broadcast on the Law and Crime Network YouTube channel, celebrated winners from a diverse pool of nominees voted on by experts in digital forensics and investigations.
Cellebrite’s CEO, Thomas E Hogan, emphasised the significance of the event: “This is our premier event for celebrating and honouring those who go above and beyond to protect their communities, nations and businesses."
