Inspection highlights partnership approach to safeguarding children
Cumbria Constabulary has been rated “Good” in a recent specialist-led inspection for its leadership and partnership in child safeguarding.
The inspection, conducted by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS), commended Cumbria Constabulary for its commitment to child-centred policing and collaboration with partner agencies.
HMICFRS recognised the force's strong oversight and effective partnerships in protecting vulnerable children.
Cumbria Constabulary displayed a clear dedication to strengthening its approach, with areas for improvement identified and addressed.
Assistant Chief Constable Dave Stalker expressed pride in the acknowledgement of the force’s work, underscoring their dedication to protecting young people through collaboration with local and national partners.
Cumbria Constabulary is set to submit a detailed plan to HMICFRS outlining future improvements within eight weeks following the report's publication.
Further inspection findings on the Constabulary’s effectiveness, efficiency, and legitimacy are anticipated this summer.
