The Charity Commission has opened an investigation into a Cumbria charity which provides accommodation for vulnerable adults.
Cumbria Community Homes, which was registered as a charity in 2019, is being investigated over concerns about how it is run and managed.
The regulator has also restricted some of the charity's transactions and says it can't sell or dispose of property without its permission.
The Charity Commission first opened a regulatory case in December 2024 after concerns were raised about the charity not having a functioning board of trustees and being late in filing financial information.
What will the investigation look at?
The new statutory inquiry will look at how the charity is governed and managed, as well as how its money is being handled.
It will also examine whether there are enough trustees who are able and willing to run the charity, and whether there have been any conflicts of interest or transactions involving people connected to the charity.
The Charity Commission says the inquiry could be expanded if further concerns come to light.
It's stressed that the investigation isn't a finding of wrongdoing and that no conclusions have been reached yet.
