Fatal road accident in Cleator Moor: Police seek witnesses
Woman dies following motorbike collision
Cumbria Police are requesting witnesses to come forward following a tragic road traffic accident on Ennerdale Road in Cleator Moor.
The collision occurred at approximately 4.25pm on 26th May and involved a woman in her 70s and her grandchild being struck by a motorbike as they crossed the road.
Emergency services arrived at the scene, but the woman unfortunately died as a result of her injuries.
The accompanying child was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Following the incident, police apprehended three men, all in their 20s and from West Cumbria, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
These individuals remained in police custody as of this morning.
Cumbria Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or observed the motorbike, which may have been part of a convoy with two quad bikes prior to the incident, to contact them.
The police are especially interested in any dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage captured by people in the area at the time.
