Man arrested as police appeal for witnesses to Dalton bypass collision

A young child has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision on the A590 this morning (11th November).

The crash occurred at around 8:50am on the Dalton bypass and involved a black Range Rover and a white Hyundai i10.

The child is understood to have been part of the group travelling in the Range Rover, while the driver of the Hyundai was also taken to hospital with injuries.

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the collision and remains in police custody.

Police appeal for witnesses

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time and captured relevant footage on their dashcam to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
