Several cars have been sprayed with suspected cow slurry after attempting to soak up the heatwave in farmer-owned land near Pelter Bridge in Rydal.

The incident occurred around 10pm on 25th May, when police were alerted to reports of vehicles being covered in slurry.

The affected vehicles were parked near grazing land, highlighting the importance of respecting boundaries marked by boulders and posts.

Reports from locals suggest the incident lead to queues at the nearby Troutbeck Bridge carwash.

Cumbria Police have commented on the situation, stating that their Neighbourhood Policing Teams are conducting further inquiries to determine the full events surrounding the slurry spraying.

No injuries have been reported, and the police continue to investigate the bizarre event.
