Carlisle secure crucial derby win over Barrow

They're now only two points off League Two safety with 13 games left

Carlisle United secured what could a crucial win in their battle against League Two relegation.

A 1-0 win in the Cumbrian Derby against Barrow - moves them two points within safety.

13 games are left this season.

More than 900 travelling Carlisle fans were treated to Mark Hughes' first win since taking charge, ending a six-game winless run.

They remain bottom of the football league, but are now within touching distance of escaping the relegation zone, with plenty of games left to retain their League Two status.

For Barrow, it's a third straight defeat, leaving them 18th in the table.

They are still 11 points clear of the drop zone though.
