An inquest has been opened into the death of Shannon Kelis White, a 21-year-old woman found dead at her home in Carlisle.

Police discovered the serving officer at the city address on 24th June, where CPR was attempted but she could not be revived, according to Craig Smith, assistant coroner for Cumbria.

The inquest, which was formally opened at His Majesty’s Coroners' Court in Workington, has been adjourned and is scheduled for a full hearing on 5th November, 2026.

The family of Shannon White has paid tribute to her, highlighting the positive impact she made during her life:

"We are deeply saddened by Shannon's passing, and she will be forever missed by all whose lives she touched. Shannon was loved beyond words by so many and will always be remembered."

Shannon's family has expressed a desire for donations to be made in her memory to Thin Blue Line UK, an organisation that supports the mental health and wellbeing of officers.
