Two charged with attempted murder after suspected stabbing in Carlisle

Two men have been charged with attempted murder and have appeared in court today (31st March) after a man was found with suspected stab wounds in Carlisle.

Emergency services were called out to an address on Edward Street at around 3.25am on Sunday 29th March.

They'd had reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed.

He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

Five people were arrested, two men on suspicion of murder, two women on suspicion of assisting an offender, and a man on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The two charged with attempted murder include 29-year-old Connor Challenor, and 46-year-old Alex Steventon.

They appeared at Carlisle Magistrates' Court today and were remanded in custody ahead of their next court appearance.

They're due at Carlisle Crown Court on 1st May 2026 to enter pleas.
