Drug dealer jailed for five years after supplying drugs in North Cumbria

A 22-year-old man from Longtown has been jailed for five years after supplying drugs in North Cumbria.

Bradley Cowan, of Moor Road, has been sentenced for:

  • Being concerned in the supply of a class A drug - other
  • Two counts of possess with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A - Cocaine
  • Acquire / use / possess criminal property
  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis

Cowan was caught three times with drugs by officers.

In May 2024, Cowan was stopped while riding a Sur-ron bike and found with cocaine on him and drug paraphernalia at his home.

In September 2024, he was found with over £1000 cash on him.

More drugs were then discovered when officers searched his home.

That was after he was caught allegedly taking drugs in a toilet somewhere.

Analysis of his mobile phone also revealed messages linked to drug dealing, along with a list of people owing money.

In January 2026, he was arrested at his home, following suspected drug dealing happening there.

Officers found cannabis, nitrous oxide canisters, and cocaine wraps at his address.

Speaking on the case, Community Beat Officer for Longtown, PC Nick Leigh, said “Cowan was actively involved in the supply of drugs within our community.

“We have taken proactive action to disrupt his offending in which he continued.

“Following information from our community we were able to continue to target Cowans criminal activity.

“If you suspect criminality is taking place in your neighbourhood then we want to hear from you so we can take action.”
