Construction on a major extension at Beaconside CofE Primary School is making good progress, setting the stage for enhanced educational facilities for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The extension, which is designed to offer extra school places and improve SEND provision, is funded through Section 106 developer contributions.

These contributions are provided by housing developers to accommodate the educational needs of growing communities.

Approved by Westmorland and Furness Council after public consultation, the project is on track for completion in spring 2027.

Foundation works have been completed, and structural work is moving forward on the Key Stage 1 and 2 buildings.

Efforts are being made to build for the future at Beaconside School, enhancing learning, inclusion, and opportunities for local children.
