Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses after a badger was found cruelly injured in the Granby Road area of Grange over Sands on 27 June.

Members of the Lancashire Badger Group were able to catch the badger, who was found to have two cable ties attached to its neck causing severe injury.

The badger was taken immediately for veterinary treatment, but despite best efforts the badger was too badly injured to be saved and had to be euthanised.

Badgers are fully protected by law and Cumbria Police would urge anyone with any information to contact them 101 quoting log number 67 of 28 June 2025.
