Arrests for drug driving and shop theft in Kendal

All three occupants - two men and a woman - were arrested on suspicion of theft

Three people have been arrested in Kendal on suspicion of offences including drug driving and shop theft.

Officers stopped a vehicle at Sainsbury’s on Shap Road at around 9.40pm yesterday (8th October). Inside, they recovered a large quantity of meat and other products believed to have been stolen.

The driver was subjected to a roadside drugs wipe, which they failed for cocaine.

All three occupants - two men and a woman - were arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop, while the driver was further arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

Police confirmed that all three suspects remain in custody this afternoon (9th October) as enquiries continue.
