Arrest after stabbing reports in Carlisle

A man in his 40's has been arrested by Cumbria Police after a man was found with suspected stab wounds in Carlisle.

Armed police responded to reports of an assault at an address in Edward Steet t around 3.24am on Sunday 29 March.

A man in his 30's was taken to hospital and subsequently discharged, with his injuries not proving life-threatening.

Cumbria Police say investigations led to the arrest on Sunday evening.

Detectives say the operation involved arrest inquiries being carried out at a number of addresses in the city and residents may have noticed a larger-than-usual police presence.
