Arrest after reports of woman being held over Carlisle bridge

Police are investigating an incident of threats to kill and assault

Police are investigating threats to kill after a woman was allegedly held over a bridge in Carlisle.

The incident happened at around 12pm on 13 May on St Ninian’s Bridge.

The victim wasn't injured but the suspect reportedly threatened to kill her.

A man from Carlisle has been arrested in connection and is on bail as investigations continue.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
