Man and woman arrested after armed incident in Ulverston

A man and woman have been arrested after an armed incident unfolded in Ulverston yesterday.

Police were called to an address at The Gill, Ulverston, at about 2:55pm on 31st May, following reports of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals who had secured themselves inside the property with a weapon.

Due to the nature of the incident, firearms officers were deployed to the scene.

A safety cordon was established, and several people in the immediate vicinity were evacuated to ensure the officers could work safely.

At approximately 7:35pm, officers managed to gain entry to the property and arrested a man and a woman.

Both are now in police custody, with no injuries reported during the incident.
