A man in his 20s has died after a crash involving a car and a HGV on the A66 near Warcop.
Emergency services were called at around 4.10am today (Thursday 1 October) following reports of a collision between a black Audi Q2 and a HGV.
The driver of the Audi died at the scene.
The HGV driver suffered minor injuries.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has information which could help with the investigation.
They also want to hear from anyone with dashcam or other footage of the collision.
