Warwickshire's Police and Crime Commissioner wants to see road fatalities reduced by 50% by 2030, in a push for better road safety across the region.

Latest figures show that 25 people died and nearly 300 people were seriously injured on Warwickshire’s roads in 2024.

Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership Chair, PCC Phillip Seccombe says he's committed to reducing these numbers by strengthening road safety initiatives, primarily through schools and other educational tools.

The PCC said "To make our roads safer, we need a multi-faceted approach of proactive enforcement alongside effective education, as well as implementing new safeguards for younger drivers.

"We've been putting on webinars which are free for young people, and their parents, to help them understand the risks that come with driving.

"We want to work with partners and schools to heighten the issue of road safety both locally and nationally so we can lower these statistics."
