Warwickshire domestic abuse counselling service extended
Referral routes for the DiAmond service have been expanded to allow more professionals to refer people for support
Listening Ear has been re-commissioned by Warwickshire County Council to continue delivering its DiAmond counselling service for adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.
From 1 September 2026, a wider range of professionals will be able to refer people to the service. DiAmond provides specialist, trauma-informed one-to-one counselling through schools, colleges, community venues, video calls and telephone support.
Listening Ear has been delivering support to people affected by domestic abuse for more than a decade, with the service accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The programme also includes two online support groups, introduced in 2024, for primary-aged children and secondary-aged young people. The groups provide ongoing support following counselling, with activities including crafts, poetry and yoga.
Councillor Anne-Marie Sonko, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health said: “Supporting victim survivors of domestic abuse is a priority for the council so that residents can live well in Warwickshire.
"Access to a specialist counselling service like DiAmond can make a real difference in helping individuals to rebuild their lives.
"We are making sure that more children, young people and adults across Warwickshire who are victim survivors of domestic abuse can access timely, high-quality support when they need it most.”
