Two people face additional charges after death of baby girl in Rugby

Two people have appeared in court to face additional charges after the death of a 13-month-old girl in Rugby.

Kinga Wydrzynska, 25, and and Michal Stasiak, 27, previously appeared in court having been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.

The girl died in hospital on January 7 after being taken ill at a house in Rugby.

Stasiak had also been charged with possession of indecent images.

Today (Friday 12 December) they appeared before magistrates in Leamington and were charged with:

  • two counts of sexual assault by penetration in relation to the 13-month-old child that died
  • three counts of assault/ill-treat/neglect/abandon a child/young person to cause unnecessary suffering/injury against the 13-month-old child that died and two other children

Wydrzynska and Stasiak were remanded and will next appear before Warwick Crown Court on Friday 9 January.
