Two people have been arrested after a man's body was found in the river at a park in Leamington.

Officers were called to Victoria Park just before 7:45am last Wednesday (15 April) after a member of the public saw a man in the river.

Emergency Services confirmed Adam Lucas, who was in his 50s had died.

A post-mortem carried out after his death established that Adam had died from "injuries consistent with an assault."

Police say his family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.

Yesterday Warwickshire Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Birmingham on suspicion of murder and a 23-year-old woman from Birmingham on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They remain in custody.

Police say they are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding Adam's death and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
