Sidiki Cherif joins Coventry City from Fenerbahce SK
The forward is on a long-term deal
Coventry City FC has signed forward, Sidiki Cherif, on a permanent transfer, from Fenerbahce SK, on a long-term contract.
The talented 19 year-old joined the Turkish giants in a loan deal, with an obligation to buy in February 2026 and netted three times, during the closing months of the campaign.
He’s also made appearances in the UEFA Europa League and in this season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers, prior to his arrival at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Cherif began his career in France and made his professional debut for Angers SCO, in the 2023-24 season.
Angers won promotion to Ligue 1 in 2024 and the teenager continued to progress well in France’s top division.
Cherif began to really make his mark early in the 2025-26 season and had four Ligue 1 goals to his name by the end of December and his performances caught the eye of suitors around Europe, before he completed his switch to Turkey.
Born in Guinea, Cherif has had call-ups to France’s Under-16 and Under-21 squads.
The striker is excited to be moving to the Premier League and on signing for the Sky Blues, he said: “I’m very happy to be a Coventry City player and I’m excited to be playing in the Premier League.
“I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do and to play at the amazing stadium.
"I can’t wait to get started.”
