Rugby drug dealer jailed after officers spot him dealing
Marius Chioibasu, 50, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison
A Rugby drug dealer has been jailed for 16 months after admitting possessing and supplying cocaine.
Marius Chioibasu, 50, was arrested on 17 March after officers spotted him driving around in a car in Rugby which had connections to drugs activity.
Officers watched him carry out several suspected drugs deals across the town, before stopping the car on Butlin Road where they carried out a search of the 50-year-old and his car.
A number of white powder wraps – later found to be cocaine – were found in the car along with just under £1,500 on Chioibasu.
He was lter charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A – cocaine and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
Chioibasu appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (30 June) where he was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
Detective Constable Matthew Rapkins said: “Chioibasu is a known drugs supplier and we’re glad he’s behind bars.
“We know the misery drugs can cause and we’ll always try to disrupt any activity and bring offenders to justice wherever we can.”
