Police appeal for witnesses after child dies in a fatal collision near Moreton Morrell

A child has died after a collision on the Fosse Way near Moreton Morrell.

Police were called on Friday 31st of July at around 5pm to a report of a collision on the B4455. A tractor and a VW Tiguan had collided on the stretch of road between the turning for Compton Verney and the Five Ways roundabout.

Officers attended the scene along with the ambulance service and the air ambulance. A six-year-old girl with serious head injuries was helicoptered to hospital. The girl died the following morning. Police say her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Tiguan, the driver of the Tractor and two young passengers in the car were shaken up but uninjured.

Police are keen to speak with anybody who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of it. They that you quote incident number 331 of 31st of July when contacting them.
