Pedestrian dies after crash at Coventry roundabout

A man in his 60s has died following a collision in Coventry.

The incident occurred at the roundabout exit of Sewell Highway and Torcross Avenue shortly before 8.30am on 26th May.

While crossing the road, police say that the man was struck as a car collided with another vehicle.

He was taken to hospital but later passed away.

Specially trained officers are providing support to his family during this difficult time.

West Midlands Police said yesterday (27/5): "We were called to reports of a collision between two cars on the exit of the roundabout of Sewell Highway with Torcross Avenue, yesterday (26 May) shortly before 8.30am.

"A man who had been crossing the road was hit when a car crashed into another vehicle.

"Sadly, the man in his 60s died in hospital last night.

"Our thoughts remain with his loved ones and everyone who knew him.

"Specially trained officers are supporting his family.

"Our Serious Collision Investigation Unit have launched an investigation to understand exactly what happened.

"Both drivers of the cars involved stopped at the scene and are assisting us with our enquiries.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time, has any dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to report it to us."
