New guide puts Coventry’s attractions in the spotlight
50-page digital guide showcases the city’s heritage, culture, events and hidden gems
A new digital visitor guide has been launched to showcase some of the best of Coventry, from heritage and culture to independent businesses, green spaces and food and drink.
The 50-page guide describes Coventry as the ‘music and motor city’ and highlights attractions including museums, galleries, theatres and cultural venues, as well as some of the city’s lesser-known places.
It also features upcoming events and suggested itineraries based on different interests, making it easier for visitors to plan their time in the city.
The guide is aimed at encouraging more day trips, short breaks and staycations, while helping visitors discover a wider range of local businesses and attractions.
Councillor Lynnette Kelly, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration and Climate change said: “Tourism plays an important role in supporting the wider local economy and the launch comes at an exciting time for Coventry, with the city already recording very strong visitor numbers and significant economic impact from tourism.
“The new guide provides another opportunity to build on this momentum, strengthening Coventry’s profile as a destination and encouraging even more people to visit."
The guide will be available digitally through hotels, visitor attractions, transport hubs, cultural venues and other locations used by visitors.
Paul McMahon, Managing Director of Destination Coventry, said: “This guide is about more than places to go and things to see; it is about the stories we tell and the sense of belonging that can turn a visit into something memorable.
“Coventry has endured, reinvented itself and continued to look forward, and that spirit lives on in our visitor economy."
