MP expresses 'deep concern' after double shooting in Tile Hill

A Coventry MP has been expressing his 'deep concern' following a double shooting in the Tile Hill area of the city earlier this week.
A man was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition on Wednesday (13/05).
Emergency services were called to Robert Mountford Way just after 8pm, where two men were found injured.
One of the men suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest, while the other sustained serious leg injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Three men, aged 25, 24, and 22, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

MP’s Statement
Coventry MP Taiwo Owatemi expressed concern over the incident.
Owatemi said: “I’m deeply concerned by the serious incident in Tile Hill last night, including reports that two people have been taken to hospital with gunshot injuries.
"My thoughts are with those injured and with residents in James Green Road, Robert Mountford Way and the surrounding area who will understandably be worried.
"West Midlands Police have confirmed to me that three people are in custody and that the Major Crime Team is leading enquiries.
"Officers are also in the area providing reassurance.
"I would urge anyone with information to contact West Midlands Police as soon as possible.
"Please do not speculate online while enquiries are ongoing.
"I will be seeking updates from the police and will do everything I can to support local residents and ensure the community gets the reassurance it needs.”
Police Statement
West Midlands Police are appealing for information as investigations continue.
A spokesperson said: “We have arrested three men following a violent disorder involving weapons in the Tile Hill area of Coventry on Wednesday, May 13.
"We were called to Robert Mountford Way shortly after 8.30pm.
"One man was taken to hospital with a life-threatening gunshot injury to his chest, while a second man was taken to hospital after receiving gunshot injuries to his leg.
"His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
"We understand incidents of this nature are concerning to the community, and we will have extra patrols in the area over the coming days to offer reassurance.
