Motorists caught speeding on A46 near Kenilworth during police operation
Warwickshire Police target major road for traffic enforcement
Fourteen drivers have been caught speeding on the A46 near Kenilworth as part of a police crackdown on dangerous driving.
During the enforcement checks by Warwickshire Police, one motorist was recorded travelling at a speed of 109mph.
The operation is part of "Operation Spotlight," which aims to address the "Fatal Four" causes of serious road collisions: speeding, drink and drug driving, failing to wear a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone while driving.
Police have expressed concerns about the stretch of road, noting it has been the site of several serious injury and fatal collisions in recent months.
Operation Spotlight is focused on one of the county's busiest roads.
Recent enforcement
On Sunday (05/07), OPU Warwickshire said: "This morning we have been out on the A46 near Kenilworth as part of #OperationSpotlight focusing on Fatal four offences.
"This section of Road has been subject to a number of serious injury and Fatal Collisions over the last few months and is a major route through our county.
"14 Vehicles were stopped today for Excess Speed Offences with the highest speed being 109Mph."
