Man charged with attempted murder in Warwickshire

It follows a 'significant' police operation at Woodside Park yesterday (22nd May)

A man has been charged with attempted murder and threats to kill, following what's been called a 'significant' Warwickshire Police operation.

28 year old James Galbraith, from Limerick in Ireland, was arrested at Woodside Park near Ryton on Dunsmore yesterday morning (Thursday 22nd May).

He's been remanded in custody to appear before Warwick Crown Court on 20th June.

More than 100 officers were involved in the operation, with seven further arrests made.

Six vehicles were also seized, along with suspected stolen property and thousands of pounds in cash.

Updates have also been given on the other people arrested:

  • 44 year old John Brown of Woodside Park was arrested for failing to appear in court for drug driving offences and has been remanded in custody
  • 52 year old Andrew Poyser of Belmont Road in Coventry has been remanded in custody for failing to appear in court for a case of grievous bodily harm
  • A 30 year old man and a 17 year old boy arrested on suspicion of theft, as part of an investigation into shop thefts totalling around £25,000 of goods, have been released on bail while enquiries continue
  • A 39 year old man on suspicion of theft, after suspected stolen goods were found in a caravan, has been released on bail while enquiries continue
  • Two men arrested for immigration offences have now been transferred to immigration services
