Collision closes M40 southbound in Warwickshire
Diversion in place as investigation continues
A collision has led to the closure of the M40 southbound in Warwickshire between Junction 16 (Hockley Heath) and Junction 15 (Warwick).
The northbound section of the motorway has been reopened, while the southbound remains closed as Warwickshire Police continue their collision investigation at the scene.
National Highways Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic management efforts during the closure.
Diversion Route
For those affected by the closure, a diversion route is in place. Motorists should follow the hollow circle diversion symbol on road signs to avoid the closed section of the motorway.
Exit the M40 southbound at Junction 16 and take the second exit onto the A3400 toward Henley-in-Arden.
Continue for approximately 3 miles to the A4189 junction.
At the A4189 junction, turn left toward Warwick and travel along the A4189 for around 6.5 miles to the junction with the B4463.
Turn right at the B4463 junction, heading towards Warwick, and stay on this road to its junction with the A46.
Take the second exit toward the M40 and rejoin the motorway at Junction 15.
Drivers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and remain patient as responders work to manage the situation.
