Four people are being treated in hospital after an HGV, a van and multiple cars were involved in a collision on the M40 in Warwickshire.

It happened at around 7.42pm on Tuesday 4th November between junction 12 and 13, northbound and southbound.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found six patients. A man and a woman were treated for serious injuries, and both were conveyed under emergency driving conditions to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“A second man was treated for potentially serious injuries, and a third man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“Two further people did not wish to be assessed.”

Part of the motorway was southbound but was reopened at around 4pm this afternoon (November 5)

National Highways said the collision caused significant damage to the central reservation barrier.
