Local businesses react to 19 year old Warwickshire County Council leader
Business owners in Warwickshire hope newly elected Cllr George Finch will support the local high street
Local business owners in Warwickshire have been reacting to a 19 year old becoming the leader of Warwickshire County Council.
Councillor George Finch, of the Reform Party, was elected leader of Warwickshire County Council last week.
Finch's new position makes him the youngest elected council leader in the UK.
Some local business owners are now calling on council support, under the new leadership, to help keep the high street thriving.
Sharon Steadman, who runs NV HER in Warwick, is one of them. Sharon hopes Cllr Finch recognises the importance of keeping the high street alive, despite his age.
Sharon said: "I hope he (Cllr Finch) works to keep the local high-street alive by getting people into our towns rather than shopping online.
"Even though he's 19, and might be partial to online shopping, I hope we can persuade him to realise that towns are important to local communities."
