The countdown to Coventry’s much-loved Godiva Festival begins this Friday 27 June, with a free live music pop-up outside of Coventry Train Station, running from 4.30pm to 7pm.

The special live music preview will feature artists who emerged through this year’s Godiva Calling talent search, a platform dedicated to spotlighting up-and-coming performers across Coventry. This initiative, which was supported by MusicSmart, has played a key role in shaping the festival’s line-up and supporting grassroots talent in the region.

Commuters and visitors will be treated to a vibrant music event celebrating the next wave of local talent.

Each artist brings their unique local sound, offering a taste of the vibrant musical energy set to take over the main festival.

Live performances on the day include: The Royals, Hazz, The Rebels, Zhwan, Math-U, STØck3Rzz.

Each artist brings a unique sound, representing a wide range of genres and styles that reflect the vibrant diversity of Coventry’s music scene. From indie rock to rap, soulful vocals to experimental beats, the pop-up event offers a snapshot of the fresh talent set to feature at this year’s Godiva Festival.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Deputy Leader at Coventry City Council and Cabinet Member for Events, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the incredible emerging talent from Coventry.

“Events like this show how important music and culture are to the identity of our city.

“It’s also a great way to kick off the summer festival season, giving people a taste of what is to come at the 2025 Godiva Festival”

This event is open to the public and free to attend, providing a perfect opportunity for music lovers, commuters and curious passers-by to enjoy live performances and discover Coventry’s music scene.

Godiva Festival returns in full this summer from 4 – 6 July, bringing together major acts, community showcases, family entertainment, and a celebration of Coventry’s rich cultural life.

This year’s line-up will see Marc Almond, best known as the vocalist for Soft Cell, headlining the Main Stage on Friday. He will be joined by synth-pop band, Heaven 17, plus soul singer and lead vocalist of the band M People, Heather Small.
