Illegal vapes and counterfeit tobacco, worth thousands of pounds, have been seized from a store in Coventry.

West Midlands Police and Trading Standards officers joined forces for searches on Monday this week (12th May).

A shop in Foleshill Road was checked over, with a man running away from the scene.

He was stopped and searched, along with a van nearby.

The vehicle contained illegal vapes, counterfeit tobacco and prescription drugs, all thought to be worth around £10,000.

Enquiries are ongoing by officers and Trading Standards.
