Investigation launches into flooding on Princes Drive as road reopens again
Severn Trent is investigating the cause after it closed the road twice in four weeks
Heavy rainfall caused flooding on Princes Drive earlier this week, disrupting traffic and leading to clearance efforts by Severn Trent teams.
It comes after heavy rainfall closed the road only 4 weeks ago, with councillors and locals calling it a consistent problem.
A spokesperson for Severn Trent said their teams cleared surface water from the road, which was reopened at 3.30pm yesterday (16 December).
“Our teams and tankers were at Princes Drive, clearing surface water from the road following the heavy rain. We can confirm the road was clear, and back open from 3.30pm.
"We jetted our network to ensure it's free-flowing and will be working with the local council to investigate the network to understand what's causing flooding here.
“We’d like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding, and we're sorry for any disruption,” the spokesperson said.
Severn Trent will continue its investigations to understand the cause of flooding in the area.
