A woman has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice after the death of a man in Kenilworth last month.

Carl Stephens, 45, died at a house in Chestnut Avenue after emergency services responded to concerns about his welfare just before midnight on Friday 20 March.

A 51-year-old woman from Solihull who was arrested earlier this month (April 2026) on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been released on bail until June.

A 72-year-old woman previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been bailed pending further enquiries.

Three people - a 24-year-old man from Birmingham, a 49-year-old woman from Kenilworth and a 16-year-old boy from Kenilworth - have been charged with murder in connection with Carl's death.

They are next due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
